Celebrating Matariki with Star-Shaped Toast
Matariki is a celebration in the New Zealand calendar that marks the beginning of the Māori New Year. Signified by the Matariki cluster of stars that can be spotted reappearing in the sky, it’s a time for reflection on the year that has passed and reconnecting with family and loved ones. It’s also a time to contemplate our connection with Taiao (the natural world) and appreciate its importance in providing us with an abundance of food and beautiful wildlife and amazing natural places.
